First time in California and I was not disappointed. Working a AAA gala event, I had half a day to myself the morning after I landed. Our hotel was directly on the marina so that’s where I went to explore.

This was my first time traveling with my new camera, so I finally got to release my inner tourist. Being alone actually gave me more confidence to take street photography, I didn’t have to worry if I was boring/annoying someone else. It did take me a while to figure out the settings. I started by trying to shoot in manual & it did not go well. Once I figured out to take a few photos in Auto and transfer those settings to the camera mode I wanted gave me the results I was looking for. I thought I wanted my film simulation to have lighter, blue vibes. Once I started taking photos I realized that the simulation I had in C2 was more “California”. It gave everything that perfect California glow, while keeping darker colors rich.

For the first time in a long time I’m very proud of the photos I took.
